36 THINGS TO WRITE ABOUT WHEN YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SAY

Tuesday, January 30, 2018 Cape Town, South Africa

My blog has always been a complete labor of love. There are times when I really struggle to keep up the consistency and there are times when I just cannot face taking a single picture. But I always find myself right back here, sitting in front of my laptop, staring at the blinking cursor. I have found that keeping a standby list of blog post ideas really helps me on the days when I just have nothing to say but feel like writing.

Guys, I am so excited about this. 2018 is the year we are planning a BIG family holiday. Monday, January 15, 2018 Cape Town, South Africa

I know, I know! It’s January and I am talking about health and finances. What a stereotype, right? So here’s a little secret about me, I am in the middle of a free-fall into the wonderful world of organisation binders. After pinning one too many printables, I have finally declared that time is now, I need to get my ass into gear and organise my life and because I am an old-school soul, I like to plan with a pen and paper.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR CHILD FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL

Friday, January 12, 2018

Yesterday was the first day of Sophie's last year of preschool. Last night, as I was laying on my bed watching Hannibal, I felt so overcome with anxiety. I have been stuck in a panic-stricken vortex about "big school". As many moms will tell you, there is so much fearmongering about when to apply, where to apply, how to apply. We are fed horror stories of parents not being accepted to schools, who then need to make a drastic plan for their child's education on the very last minute. Most moms confessed to applying to at least 3 schools for kids. I have decided to apply to at least 5.

MAKE SELF CARE A HABIT WITH THESE EASY TIPS

Tuesday, January 09, 2018 Cape Town, South Africa

When I think about “self care” I think about mornings at the blow dry bar, spa days and long lunches with the girls. It’s so much more than that though… We see personal hygiene as an absolute necessity, but often neglect our emotional hygiene. A couple of months ago I started a daily self care routine and the main thing it’s taught me is that when I take good care of myself I am also taking good care of my family.

DEAR YOU, A LETTER TO MYSELF IN 2018

Tuesday, January 02, 2018

Last year I wrote my first “Dear You” post. I thought it was an awesome opportunity to set goals in a non-traditional way. The idea is a simple one: write a letter to the you you’d like to be in a year from now, mention all the things you’d like to see yourself achieve and congratulate yourself for getting there in one piece.

This is my 2018 edition of “Dear You”….
